Flag Protocol for the Funeral of HRH The Duchess of Kent
Project Overview
ERC Services were instructed to manage the adjustment of flags at 1 St James Market, London, in line with national protocol following the passing of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent. As part of this sensitive and high-profile occasion, our team was required to ensure that flags were flown correctly at both half-mast and full mast on the day of the funeral.
Project Delivery
To meet ceremonial requirements, our rope access team carried out two out-of-hours visits on the day of the funeral. Early in the morning, the team attended site to safely lower the flags to half-mast, ensuring the building paid the appropriate mark of respect during the service. Later that evening, our team returned to raise the flags back to full mast, in accordance with official guidance following the funeral.
Project Outcome
The flags at 1 St James Market were flown precisely in line with official national mourning and funeral protocol. Both out-of-hours visits were completed on time and without incident. The site was left safe, clean, and tidy after completion of the works.
